Nevada Project Heartbeat’s mission is to save lives through promotion of early defibrillation, education in sudden cardiac arrest, and promotion of training in AED/CPR; all for the citizens and visitors throughout the great state of Nevada.
The leading cause of death in the United States is sudden cardiac arrest. Sudden cardiac arrest strikes approximately 365,000 people in North America every year - yet many of those lives could be saved if communities were prepared to respond.
Nevada Project Heartbeat’s goal is to improve sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) survivability in the state of Nevada. It aims to accomplish this goal by raising the average citizen’s awareness of SCA , by providing places of business, public agencies, and other organizations with the tools and training needed to make automated external defibrillators (AEDs) available, accessible, and affordable.
Nevada Project Heartbeat’s organizational purpose is to support a strong system of pre-hospital care in Nevada through promotion of PAD programs, AED placements, AED/CPR training, and public education.
The Nevada Project Heartbeat Program has been organized solely to increase the chances of survival from sudden cardiac arrest across Nevada by making automated external defibrillators (AED) available in public places and creating “heart safe” communities through awareness and training in CPR and the use of the automated external defibrillator.
